Making rail freight transport fit for the future. With this clear goal in mind, Vera-Valerie Capek-Krautgartner has already made progress at the Rail Cargo Group (RCG): among other things, she has written an evaluation logic for selecting the coupling head design for the Digital Automatic Coupling (DAC), which is already in use today. Her ambition: to fully automate rail freight transport through electricity and data on the freight train.
For her outstanding achievements, Vera-Valerie Capek-Krautgartner has won the first “Bahnindustrie-Award der Agenda Bahnindustrie Frauen” (Railway Industry Award of the “Agenda Railway Industry Women”) – she shares the first place with Michaela Haberle-Weber from the ÖBB-Infrastruktur AG. The prize is awarded as part of the “Innovationskraft Eisenbahn” (Railway Innovation) event organised by the Federal Ministry for Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology. The award focuses on projects that broaden the rail industry to include the perspective of women and thus advance the entire sector.
Our congratulations to Vera-Valerie Capek-Krautgartner! SHE is #RAILCORE
