Rail Day

Every year in September, the whole of Germany revolves around the railway. ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG), together with its German carrier, offers railway enthusiasts a comprehensive programme to immerse themselves in the world of rail – including a ride in the driver's cab.

Rail Day in Germany (“Tag der Schiene”) is a railway spectacle of a special kind. For three days, the industry shows what it's made of with special trips, station concerts, construction site tours, job fairs and festivals for the whole family. It is a festival for everyone who wants to be infected by the enthusiasm for rail transport.

Experience the railway in Moers

The RCG and its German subsidiary Rail Cargo Carrier - Germany will also be at the forefront of Rail Day. In Rheinkamp/Moers, railway enthusiasts can see how a freight train gets on the rails and how local traffic is handled at the marshalling yard. There will also be train rides and tours of the Taurus and Vectron locomotives. The programme will be rounded off by an information stand, a tombola and a food truck. Come along and don't miss this unique opportunity – registration is not required. Admission is free.
