Europe's leading rail logistics company, RCG, has been awarded EcoVadis Gold status for the fourth time in a row. EcoVadis is an internationally recognised sustainability standard adopted by more than 130,000 companies worldwide. The categories assessed are environment, labour and human rights and sustainable procurement.
Strong environmental and social results
RCG was particularly convincing in the areas of the environment as well as labour and human rights. The measures go far beyond the legal requirements. The use of reclaimed materials, the promotion of diversity, equality and inclusion - particularly through equal pay initiatives - and targeted actions to prevent discrimination during the recruitment process were emphasised.
Carbon scorecard as an additional assessment element
A particular highlight this year is the Carbon Scorecard, which has been included in the assessment for the second time. This additional element evaluates the management of climate protection measures and strategies to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. RCG also achieved the second-highest "Advanced" rating here. Energy efficiency training for employees and the use of modern software solutions to optimise logistics processes underline RCG's commitment in this area.
Gold status as motivation for the future
The renewed awarding of EcoVadis Gold status is not only a confirmation of the company's commitment to date, but also an incentive to continue along its chosen path. With innovative and sustainable measures, RCG creates values that extend far beyond today and thus shapes a Europe worth living in.
